I love playing and working with technology, and I still remember with joy the day when I ran my very first Fortran program—a lifetime ago. I started with Fortran IV G/H on IBM /370 mainframes in 1975, then moved on to Cobol, Basic, PL/I, ASM/370, Algol, Pascal, Lisp, ASM x86, C, dBase, Clipper, C++, Mathematica, REXX, VB, VBA, HTML & CSS, SQL, VB .Net, C# .Net, PHP, Javascript, Python, and others. I haven't stopped yet. Within Information Technology, I have done it all: from scientific programming to business systems; from operating systems (drivers and internals) to compiler development; from websites and online applications to automated trading systems; from macro languages' automation routines to neural networks and other machine learning algorithms; and many other things. I love learning new paradigms and have a very broad range of interests. Being older than most people around here affords me something invaluable: experience. And of that, I have a lot. Hi there! This is Ale. I'm a software engineer with over 15 years of commercial experience. I started my programming career creating applications for investment banks in the financial industry and slowly transitioned into web development, using primarily Ruby on Rails and Elixir/Phoenix. I have experience working on high-profile web apps serving millions of active users and smaller websites with modest traffic but terrific revenue.
