Defense Unicorns is on the lookout for a Product Marketing Unicorn who is passionate about technology, thrives on community engagement, and is driven to revolutionize the defense industry. If you have a software engineering or DevSecOps background and a love for dynamic marketing, we want you on our team!
As our Product Marketing Manager, you will become the evangelist for our products, articulating complex secure software delivery and mission capability solutions in a way that resonates across verticals within the defense sector. You will delve deep into our technology to champion our unique value propositions, tailor communications to technical and non-technical decision-makers, and build strong relationships throughout Defense and industry engagement, online and in person.
Approximately 25%-35% travel may be required to engage with communities and stakeholders effectively.
The listed responsibilities are not exhaustive, and additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the evolving needs of the organization. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is able to adapt and take on new responsibilities as they arise.
Industry Experience: Previous experience in community engagement, specifically in the Defense Continuous Delivery or Agile community.
5+ years of experience with Defense-based customer-facing engagement.
4+ years of experience with full-stack development teams.
4+ years of Product Marketing project experience.
Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of the DevSecOps world and full-stack development processes. Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and Containers.
Proven Track Record: Demonstrable experience in community engagement, growth engineering, and product marketing.
Analytical Proficiency: Strong capability in analyzing complex data and extracting actionable insights.
Creative Writing: Ability to write about technical topics in a creative way that non-technical readers could understand, enjoy, and extract value from.
Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal writing and speaking skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams in a remote work environment.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in software engineering, marketing, business, or related fields is preferred.

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience. Compensation ranges are established using national benchmarking data and apply across all geographic locations within the United States.
