web application factory pattern AWebFactory builds upon an agile, test-driven, architecturally centered and iterative and incremental approach to web application development based on distributed web application patterns, and focusing heavily on strong client participation in the development process. We create a best practices rooted workspace in which to house a cooperative web application process for every client and project, based upon best of breed cloud infrastructures and tooling.

Since January 2011, duties have included articulating the architectural vision for upcoming projects, conceptualizing and experimenting with alternative architectural approaches, creating models and component and interface specification documents, and validating the architecture against requirements and assumptions. Also involved with Agile based Process Engineering on a project by project basis.

Consulting Architect

I was contracted to put in place a software engineering process and quality control system for the System of Supervisory Control and Data Adquisition (SCADA) project for the national oil industry. The product involved real time data adquisition, operations, Web visualization, application development framework, and base infrastructure services, and had to be developed entirely with the use of Open Source based components, and capable of running on an infrastructure of networks and operating systems themselves Open Source based. I defined the parameters, indicators or measurement criteria necessary in order to establish control over the software dev process. I elaborated according to metrics and established standards for software development, its scope, size and complexity, etc. I established the guides and procedures to follow in accordance with CMMI (2-3). Modeling of the system architecture (UML, postgres, RUP and OS tools).

Projects involving open source frameworks. I investigated, integrated and prototyped with: * J2EE alternatives to EJB (Spring) * SSO & security * ORM * Native XML persistence * Workflow (OSWorkflow), job scheduling (Quartz) * Web services * MVC frameworks (JSP, Velocity, XML/XSLT, and Drupal (PHP)) Application servers: JBoss, Sun One, WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache 2 + Tomcat(s) w/ connector & balancing. * Oracle, MySQL, Postgres. Member improvement unit (CMMI Level 2) Requirements Administration. I wrote templates and guides (traceability, requirements administration). ISO-9001 for software, participation in norms, practices and usage committee, for customer's successful ISO-9001 certification process. A small educational institute teaching English as a Second Language in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with over eighty students and a staff of three full time teachers. Victor Kane, the owner director, evolved a uniquely successful set of principles and approaches to ESL/ELL learning in that time.

15 years of experience in Agile, first at large companies such as Telefonica, Telecom and Siemens (where I worked for CMMI / Agile integration), and then from 2006 on in the context of website and web applications.

A lot of practical experience including newer things more recently such as MV* (MVC-like) frameworks, sass, living style guides, tiles, etc. in conjunction with Lean UX

I have a decade of experience with web applications, initially with Java and the Spring Framework, passing through Perl and PHP, Drupal and the newer full stack javascript framework components, such as those composing the MEAN stack. From relational databases to NoSQL, I am now more and more interested in distributed applications and micro-services.

(warning! Haven't used Drupal after version 8 (WordPress and full stack Javascript since 2017). Can migrate up to Drupal 7 fine) Mainly migration now. Up till 2017, great experience mentoring in all aspects of Drupal site building, module development, developer workflow with the "everything in code" paradigm, all levels of theming, "Headless" api first, decoupled Drupal as CMS, etc. Very keen on sharing how to apply Lean UX and DevOps to website and web application mentoring, and to Drupal development in general. Spring framework with Java for desktop applications

Starting with process engineering in large companies with RUP and Agile (including Agile+CMMI), I have been specializing more and more in the Lean (Lean DevOps + Lean UX) applied to website and web application projects.

More than ten years ago I led a development team in the creation of a newspaper publishing CMS in Java and using the now retired http://xml.apache.org/xindice/ project. Article viewing was effectuated with XSLT.

Been evangelizing, recommending and using Open Source and Free Software projects and components for over ten years, both in an enterprise context as well on small and medium projects.
