I've worked on various sites for clients using Laravel, CodeIgniter, and I've even done work on old PHP web applications written by other people (no framework, just PHP and front-end code on the same files).

I've worked extensively with Postgres, SQLite, and Mysql, as well as a bit with SQL Server.

I've worked on the front-end for many web applications over the years using JQuery and various Javascript libraries such as Highcharts and google-maps. I've done plenty of Ajax (setting up the api endpoints on the backend and hitting them with the frontend).

I've done lots of basic system administration and project deployment on linux servers. This includes trouble-shooting why db servers won't start, installing dependencies for programs, scheduling cron jobs, web server configuration (Apache, NGINX), and more.

Mostly just 2D game development back in college (Allegro, SDL, OpenGL).

A client came to me with a Squarespace site that was pushing its Contact Us form submissions into a Google Spreadsheet document. One of the fields on this Contact Us form was a multiple choice radio button selection for users to indicate the reason for their inquiry.

The client wanted an auto-response email to be sent out if and only if the “reason for inquiry” was ‘Employment’ or ‘Business / Vendor’. Squarespace lacked the functionality to do this, so I wrote a Python application to run as a separate service to accomplish this. 

The application runs as a Cron job on a Digital Ocean droplet that performs as follows:

	• Connects to the Contact Us spreadsheet via Google Sheets API.

	• Makes a read request to pull the sheet’s data

	• Finds the new submissions that meet the inquiry criteria.

	• Sends the appropriate auto-response email to the email address provided on that submission via an authenticated connection to the client’s Office 365 email account.

	• Uses a separate email template depending on the selected “reason for inquiry”.

	• Performs an update operation to the spreadsheet indicating the success/failure of the auto-response attempt for the new submissions (for failures, an error message was included if an exception was thrown during sending).

	• Auto-response emails were rate-limited such that the same email address would not be sent to if they’d already been messaged by this application more than 10 times in the last 24 hours (these numbers can be configured in the application), and this failure reason would be indicated on the submission’s excessive row(s). This was to prevent the system from being abused to flood someone’s email inbox.

Mail Auto-responder integrating with Google Sheets API and MS Office 365

Using a combination of Python, shell scripting, and Selenium, I fully automated the generation and installation of free SSL certificates for our client’s domains. I also generated a PDF report showing the new effective and expiration dates for all of the new certificates (new SSL Certificate information was pulled via the ‘nmap’ command, pushed into an html template, which was then converted to PDF via the PyPDF2 package for Python).
	
For this project I used:
	• Python

	• Windows Batch scripting (ran locally)

	• Bash scripting (ran remotely on client’s server)

	• Selenium (for installing certificates via Liquidweb’s WHM web application)

	• A windows version of the ‘expect’ command for SSH and SFTP automation
